Hi Steve, I always consult your pages first when looking for information.. this is a follow up on my use of your hot water trick for carrot seed. I’m having success with Forto European carrots this year, growing in 5 gallon pails.. So far so good anyway lol… I mixed the seed 32:1 with sand, sprinkled on the surface, then put a light layer of fine vermiculite, On top put a paper towel or 2 to cover the surface… press down well..Then pour hot water out of the kettle on top… Let sit, that’s it, keep the paper towel wetted a couple times a day until sprouting… really minimized the shifting of seeds when watering… they are coming up in 6 days. Thanks again for this brilliant technique and for all the other great information on your site. kind regards L.
